Issue/Introduction

You notice C:\Program Files\Symantec\SMSDOM\PAS\Logs directory contains a large number of conduit_log.txt files.

Symptoms
Lage number of datad conduit_log files (eg. conduit_log.txt201007070000.txt) located in the C:\Program Files\Symantec\SMSDOM\PAS\Logs directory.

 

Cause

The Premium Antispam Component of Mail Security for Domino uses conduit.exe to download new Premium Antispam Rulesets. If conduit.exe encounters an error it will be written to the conduit_log.txt, each day a new conduit_log.txt is created to help keep file sizes manageable and help the data manageable as well.

Resolution

It is safe to remove dated files from this directory (eg. conduit_log.txt201007070000.txt). Deleting conduit_log.txt while Premium AntiSpam is not recommended as it may cause instablity.
