Issue/Introduction

How to reset "db2admin password" for SSIM.

 

Cause

Forgotten "db2admin" password

Resolution

There are some other users accounts which exists on SSIM appliance."ldapdb2" is one of them.

*By using SSH client, Log in to Appliance with "ldapdb2" user without quotes.
*Password will be the same password which was given during installation of SSIM.(By default, password provided during installation of SSIM get assigned to every account for O/S, database and Application.)

After a successful login, SU to root
Set new password for “db2admin” using the following command:

passwd

(Changing password from shell can create abnormal behavior of SSIM. In order to avoid it ,please read marked line )
**Remember we must reset this password (new password provide by last command) from the SSIM webpage which will change db2admin password properly.**

For SSIM 4.6.

To change password from webpage
1.login to SSIM using browser
2.Click on Password Management
3.Enter db2admin as username, current and new password.
4.Click Change Password

For SSIM 4.7

1.Login to SSIM using browser
2.Click Settings-Password—Change Password
3.Enter db2admin as username, current and new password.
4.Click Change Password
