Required Microsoft Components For IT Analytics and Pivot Reports

Issue/Introduction

You are unable to view IT Analytics or pivot reports in Altiris.

Cause

The required Microsoft components needed to work with SQL Cubes have not been installed on the Server and/or the Client.

Resolution

The following was copied from page 42 of the ITA v7 SP2 User Guide : Please refer to this document if additional information is needed.

"... You must install the Microsoft OfficeWebComponents to work with an interactive pivot table in your browser. If the freely available components are installed and you don't have Microsoft Office already installed, you can view the components with reduced functionalities.

You must also install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB
Provider for the OfficeWebComponents. TheDBProvider is a standard component that is bundled with Microsoft products such as Office 2007 and SQL Server 2005 Management Studio. It is also available from the Microsoft Web site.
