Issue/Introduction

While deploying the pcAnywhere plug-in via a batch file or similar method: Error "Windows cannot find 'Symantec_pca_autostart_host.exe...'"

Windows cannot find 'Symantec_pca_autostart_host.exe...'

Cause

The pcaclientinstallmanager cannot find the needed file based on where you are running the executable from.

Resolution

You have two options:

 

1. Force the batch file to look at the current location by running a script similar to -
   • cd \
     cd <path to install files>
     pcaclientinstallmanager.exe /iall
2. In some cases you can also put all the install files on C on the target machine and run from there.
