Issue/Introduction

Customer running Windows Server 2003 SP2 as a Virtual Machine. 

Whenever he tries to edit WinPE Boot disk or tries to install new files, the server crashes with blue screen.

Cause

 

Case:
This problem occurs because the NTFS driver incorrectly locks the resource when the NTFS driver tries to access the resource.

Resolution

1. Please make sure that Server has got the updated service Pack.

2. Apply the Hotfix.

You may receive various Stop error messages on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003

Prerequisite
To apply this hotfix, you must have Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 installed.
 

 

3. Uninstall VMware vShield drivers
