Issue/Introduction

Error when running a MSSQL check on a Windows CCS agent:

Symptoms
Error "\[DBNETLIB\]\ [ConnectionOpen (Connect ().\] SQL Server does not exist or access denied. "

 

Environment

CCS 12.5.x and 12.6

Resolution

This error can occur in one of the following scenarios

  1. MSSQL server that is being scanned is an old version no longer supported by CCS
  2. Firewall is enabled
  3. Remote access is not configured on the SQL Server
  4. The credential user does not have the required privileges to connect to the target server


Check to see if any of the above mentioned exist.
