Issue/Introduction

Symantec Brightmail Gateway has sent you an alert letting you know that the Directory Data Source requires a larger cache size. You want to know how to increase the cache size from Brightmail Gateway

Symptoms
A notification similar like this is received by Brightmail Gateway Administrator

The Directory Data Service status is as follows:

Host :

Date : Tuesday, May 04, 2010 04:41:16 AM ADT Status : A directory data source requires a larger cache size.

Please check the directory data service logs for more information.

Cause

The cache size configured for LDAP source is not enough to keep more records than configured

Resolution

Increase Cache Size following this steps:
1) Go to Administration
2) Inside Settings choose Directory Integration
3) Edit your LDAP source
4) Go to Advanced tab
5) Inside Cache Settings change the value: Cache size for another higher value
