What is best practice to redirect a client to a new Notification Server?

Resolution

Create a clone of the Altiris Agent Settings - Targeted Policy located on the Console > Settings > All Settings > Agent/Plug-ins > Altiris Agent > Settings Folder On the cloned policy, go to the General Tab in the right pane and target the specific Filter (collection) of machines to be changed.
Go to the Advanced Tab of the Cloned Policy and check the 'Specify an alternate URL for the Altiris Agent to use to access the NS:'
Input the New Notification Server Name & Web information. 
Save Changes and when the Altiris Agents on the targeted Clients run Update Configuration, they will obtain these changes.

The following command may also be in CMD window from the Agent: AeXAgentUtil /server:notificationservername

Note: It is necessary for the Resource Membership Updates to run, to update the policy targets. You can expedite this by going to the Resource Membership Update page (Settings > Notification Server > Resource Membership Update) and run the Complete Update Schedule.
