Verify that the host has been removed from the RMS console bv-Control for UNIX
Verify that the host has been removed from the credentials database
If the host has been removed from both of the above areas and does not appear in the RMS Console;

On the Unix target login as root and run the following and verify that the BVIS is not listed;

Run following setup script: ./setup.sh
The script is located in the following directories:

For AIX and Linux: /usr/local/BindView/bvcontrol

For SuSe Linux, Solaris and HP-UX in the following directory: /opt/BindView/bvcontrol

For example:
./setup.sh

Next select the a option a out of the list of options given;

Select one of the following options.

c : Register agent to use native Unix credentials for querying.
d : Delete registered agent.
n : Notify configuration data.
q : Quit to exit.

Enter your choice [a,c,d,n,q]: d

If the BVIS is not in the list select q : Quit to exit

Next will be a list of registered Information Servers

ex.
This example will delete 10.219.8.42 from registration;

    Registered Information Server for UNX
    1: 10.219.6.206
    2: 10.219.8.42
    3: 10.219.8.239

    0: Exit

    Select Information Server Number:2

    NOTE>> Choosing not to delete any hosts simply select 0 to exit. All Registered Information Servers will remain in tact. This is also the way you can verify registration. If host names are listed as opposed to ip addresses. You can delete the Information Server and re register using IP address.

Remove any ip address or hostname entries for the host that was unregistered from the following directory;

<install-dir>:\Program Files\Symantec\RMS\Control\UNIX\certs

You want to also take out the RMS console entry in the host file on the Unix host.
