"There is not enough space on drive C:\ to extract this package" when trying to install latest CHF.

Issue/Introduction

Physical drive to which the package extraction is taking place has plenty of free disk space available (i.e., in excess of 2 GB available)  

Error: There is not enough space on drive C:\ to extract this package.  This error was received when trying to run CHF for data collection

 

Resolution

Development is currently working on a solution to resolve this issue.  Please utilize the following workaround to address this situation.
 

Extract package to another machine, copy extracted files to the BVIS and run setup.exe manually.

1. On another machine, open a command line prompt and run the web package, <webpackage> using the following command: <webpackage> -e
2. Specify the folder where the install set will be extracted. For example, C:\CCS
3. Copy folder to BVIS and manually execute the setup command as follows:  Setup.exe /PatchMode="1" /PatchProduct="Symantec Control Compliance Suite 8.50 - Data Collection"
