When booting from media made with the Ghost Boot Wizard you receive an IP address of 169.x.x.x or and you can't connect to the network.

Generally, this can be resolved by running ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew.


The Network card's driver did not wait long enough for the DHCP server to respond to the request for a DHCP address. This behavior seems especially prevalent with the Intel Pro 1000 82577 LM NIC.


In the Ghost Boot Wizard in the 'Review' window do the following:
1. Click the Start Editing button (this allows you to edit the start.bat file)
2. Add the following text after the line that has X:
     ipconfig /release
     ipconfig /renew
3. Click the Stop Editing button
4. Make your boot media
