IXMAINT PURGE failed with message

"ADSDM490 3778 ARCHVOLS RECORD (arcvol) SELECTED FOR IXMAINT PROCESSING IS MARKED AS OPEN, THEREFORE, THIS RECORD IS BEING BYPASSED".

How can this ARCHVOL be deleted?

Resolution

An ARCHVOL which is marked as OPEN is protected for 2 days by default.

Either wait for 2 days or close it manually running IXUPDATE with: 

 

//SYSIN DD * 

RESET KEY=arcvol,CLOSED 

/* 

 

and then run IXMAINT PURGE again.
