Issue/Introduction

Can I restore my MR2MP2 database with my MR3 Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager?

Symptoms
After completing a restore of an older version's database, you receive the following error during logon to the Symantec Endpoint Manager:

"You can not log on to the console because the server is not synchronized with the database. Upgrade the server, and then log in to the console"

Cause

The newer version of the Manager requires an updated schema on the restored database.

Resolution

There are 2 methods to correct this issue:
1) Run a repair install, and complete the Server Configuration Wizard. Doing so will update the schema from a previous versions database to the current versions
2) Run the "upgrade.bat" found in \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin
