Issue/Introduction

You are running LUA 2.x and have noticed multiple instances of Postgres.exe.

Cause

PostgreSQL uses a multi-process architecture. In an empty system you will see anything from two to five processes. Once clients start to connect, the number of processes will increase.

Resolution

The product is working as designed. PostgreSQL uses a multi-process architecture, not multi-threaded.
