LiveUpdate appears to download content but does not apply it.


 

Cause

Unknown.

Resolution

This issue may result if LiveUpdate is damaged. To resolve this issue, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall LiveUpdate. For instructions, please refer to the document: How to Uninstall and Reinstall LiveUpdate When a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager or Symantec Endpoint Protection Client is Installed

If uninstalling and reinstalling LiveUpdate fails to resolve this issue, you will need to completely remove Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) along with LiveUpdate before re-installing. Use the Symantec Client Security Cleanwipe utility to remove SEP along with LiveUpdate. This tool can acquired by contacting Symantec Technical Support.
