How to schedule LiveUpdate on an Endpoint Protection client

You want to know how to schedule automatic updates on an unmanaged Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client on Windows, or change the schedule that it already has. You may also want to change the schedule on a managed client who had been allowed by policy to change it.


  1. Open the Symantec Endpoint Protection client interface.
  2. In the left pane, click Change Settings.
  3. Next to Client Management, click Configure Settings.
  4. Click the LiveUpdate tab.
  5. Check Enable automatic updates, if it is not enabled.
  6. Select the appropriate frequency and time, and other settings as required.
  7. Click OK to save the schedule.
