Resolution

Currently, Symantec Encryption Management Server runs on a 32-bit version of CentOS.  There are known limitations to 32-bit operating systems, such as the limitation of how much memory can be allocated to a system, as well as how large hard drives can be, in addition to not having full 64-bit CPU compatibility.  Having 64-bit would allow more resources to be allocated to a server that would benefit very large databases and busy Symantec Encrypt on Management Servers.

A Feature Request has been submitted to release a 64-bit version of Symantec Encryption Management Server.

Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers. Technical Support filed a Feature Request to add the functionality listed above. This Feature Request is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in a forthcoming version of the product.
