How to confirm that Compress for IMS is using the latest LMP key

Issue/Introduction

How to verify that Compress for IMS is using a newly installed LMP key.

Resolution

There is no function within the IMS Tools to display or report on LMP key status. From these products you will receive warning messages when
the LMP key is due to or has expired. You will also receive messages within the product if a valid LMP key is not installed for that product.
For example for Compress for IMS these messages would be:

SHR4007W COMPRESS FOR IMS FAILED LICENSE VALIDATION
SHR4008I PLEASE ENSURE THE LICENSE INFORMATION IS CORRECT

These two messages are issued in the JESMSGLG output of the job log when Compress for IMS is invoked.
Here is a working example when executing the DL/I test program:

Recommend using the Common Services verification utility, CAIRIMU, to verify licensing information.
This can be done for all products or for specific product codes.

CAIRIMU PROD Parameter (Optional)
You can use the optional PROD parameter with the CAIRIMU command to view detailed licensing information about your installed Broadcom products.
This parameter has the following format:

CAIRIMU PROD[V][(xx-yy)]

V
Designates that the list generated contains only those products that are in violation or approaching the product expiration date.

xx and yy
Designates the product range.


For Compress for IMS, you would use the following command:

TSO CAIRIMU PROD(R4R)


This would provide details similar to the following:

Indicates the initial product expiration date.

expirydate2

Identifies the final expiration date (generally a grace period of 30 days
beyond the initial product expiration date). This is the last date that
the LMP key will be accepted and the last date the CAS9181A message will
be displayed for the product.
