Issue/Introduction

This document provide a comprehensive list of commonly used logs file which can be analyzed for troubleshooting various CA Release Automation issues.

Environment

Release : 6.5, 6.6, 6.7 or higher

Component : CA RELEASE AUTOMATION RELEASE OPERATIONS CENTER

Resolution

Nolio Automation Center (NAC)

Install dir>/logs/nolio_dm_all.log

Install dir>/logs/nolio_document.log

Install dir>/logs/nolio_export.log

Install dir>/logs/nolio_auditing.log

Install dir>/.install4j/installation.log

Install dir>/.install4j/installation.log.

Install dir>/logs/Agent_upgrade.log

Install dir>/logs/active_mq_nac.log.*


Nolio Execution Server (NES)

Install dir>/logs/nimi.log

Install dir>/logs/Nolio_exec_all.log

Install dir>/logs/execution.log

Install dir>/.install4j/installation.log\

Install dir>/.install4j/installation.log.*

Install dir>/logs/active_mq_nes.log.*


Nolio Agent (NAG)

Install dir>/logs/nimi.log

Install dir>/logs/nolio_all.log

Client UI

User home directory>/.nolio/logs/nolio_app_all.log


Web UI

On browser press F12 to get access to Developer Tools and Console logs


Application Logs

Please refer to official document Debug Deployment



Below are the some information captured in respective logs.

nolio_dm_all.log

  • NAC startup sequence.
  • DB connectivity
  • License details
  • Amount of agents that connected to each NES and unreachable agents.
  • Status of processes execution
  • Logged in users
  • Details about design and publish activities

active_mq_nac.log/active_mq_nes.log

  • contain information about Active-MQ connection startup and communication sequence between the NAC and NES's as this is communication layer between NAC-NES communication.


nolio_document.log

  • contain information about processes that exported to xml document


nolio_export.log

  • contain information about components/applications that imported/exported to/from the system


nolio_auditing.log

  • contain all design and administration changes (Note that audit report need to be enable)


installation.log

  • summary of system installation (NAC, NES and agents)


installation.log.*

  • summary of system upgrade from previous version (NAC or NES)


agent_upgrade.log

  • information about agents upgrade


nimi.log

  • Information regarding communication between agents and NES  such as handshake activity
  • Network topology (NA and NES versions, ID's IP's etc..)
  • Information regarding parameters values and files that transfers between agents.


execution.log and nolio_exec_all.log

  • Information regarding execution events and parameters that transfers between agents, NES and NAC.
  • Remote agent installations logging


nolio_all.log

  • all agent activity except the network layer (Stored in nimi.log).


nolio_action_exe.log

  • specific information about actions executions and their result


nolio_app_all.log

  • Information regarding user specific login, design and execution activities.
