Currently we have our niku and ppm_jaspersoft schemas in one DB and the ppm_dwh in another DB. Is this better for performance?
We are migrating to new servers and the DBA has asked me why we shouldn’t move all into one DB. Can you please confirm what the recommendation is?
Release : All Supported Clarity releases with Data Warehouse
Component : CA PPM INTEGRATIONS & INSTALLATIONS
You most definitely can use the same database server for Clarity, Data Warehouse and Jaspersoft. The only reason not to would be to add yourself some CPU/database bandwidth. The initial reason we added DWH was to alleviate load on the transaction database by directing the reports to be ran on a separate schema/database/tablespace etc.
If your server is big enough and you have an efficient maintenance schedule you should be not having any problems with keeping them all on the same database.
