Issue/Introduction

The ACF2 databases are full and it is necessary to increase them. The Logonids and Infostorage databases will be allocated with the EXTENDED and EXT-ADDR attributes. Does ACF2 support the allocation of VSAM > 4 Gb for its database datasets?

Resolution

Yes. CA ACF2 support VSAM data sets that are defined with the extended addressability attribute. VSAM Extended format is a prerequisite for extended addressability. A VSAM data set is limited to 4 GB across all volumes unless Extended Addressability is specified in the SMS data class definition. System requirements restrict the number of volumes that can be used for one data set to 59.
