Error: vm swappiness and data catalog directories are missing during the DR Install

Issue/Introduction

Error regarding vm.swappiness and /data /catalog directories missing when running dr_install.sh to install the Data Repository.

Example errors taken from install output:

Prerequisites not fully met during local (OS) configuration for

verify-10.10.10.1.xml:

WARN (S0112): vm.swappiness is higher than recommended: your 30 > 1


Changing ownership of data directory for hostname...
chown: cannot access ‘/data’: No such file or directory


Changing ownership of catalog directory for hostname...
chown: cannot access ‘/catalog’: No such file or directory



Vertica installation ....................................................[FAIL]

The installation will now exit.

Cause

These are examples of things that are addressed when running dr_validate.sh per the documentation.

If this is not run, there are prerequisite steps that would not be performed that are required for the Data Repository install.

Resolution

Per the documentation, please run  dr_validate.sh as outlined there before running dr_install.sh.
