Issue/Introduction

 What is contained in the LEGACY component and is it necessary to install it? 

 

Environment

Release : 15.0

Component : CCS390 -  COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS

Cause

Older applications still in use may require the installation of the products contained in the Legacy pax file. 

Resolution

The Legacy pax file contains the products that for the most part have been functionally stabilized but still may be used in older customer applications.  These applications would fail if the products were not installed. 
The following products and FMIDs are found in the Legacy pax file and should be installed as appropriate:   

CA-C Runtime: FMID CAF3E00
SRAM Service: FMID CASR710
CA-L-Serv: FMID CBUJE00
Viewpoint : FMID CDU4E00
Earl Service: FMID CXE6100
