Performance Management - Moving the Data Collectors to different cluster/network

Issue/Introduction

1) Is it possible to move only the Data Collectors to the different cluster.

2) Later few months, will be moving the other PM components to the same cluster. Please let us know if there are any challenges here.

Environment

Release: Performance Management 3.6.x and 3.7.x

Resolution

Please find the below answers for your queries:

1)   "Is there any impact having 3 DC's on one cluster & other components on another cluster?"

Ans) There won't be any impact as long as the Ports and Communications are taken care off.

2)   Later few months, will be moving the other PM components(DA, PC & DR) to the same cluster. Please let us know if there are any challenges here.

Ans) If there’s no possibility of moving the VM setup to other network, please follow the below steps:

• Take the new setup as per the system requirements and do the installation in the following order:
  Performance Center
  Data Repository
  Data Aggregator.

• During installation/upgradation you need to stop the running services on current PM components.

• If Data Aggregator IP changes, you need to make the necessary changes on Data Collector server too.(Please go through the additional information field.)

• Please make sure you are taking the backup of the PM components. So that you can restore those backups on the new setup.
