Issue/Introduction

Will CPU usage increase if the CA Datacom History Database is implemented?

What percentage increase in CPU usage?

Environment

Release : 15.1

Component : CA DATACOM/DB

Resolution

No information is available on the percentage increase in CPU usage with the HISTORY database.
There will be some overhead but it would be minimal.

There are 3 tables:
CADTCM_HISTORY_ADS
CADTCM_HISTORY_SPL
CADTCM_HISTORY_EVT

The one that would have most data is CADTCM_HISTORY_ADS and it is updated when:
- the date changes (at 24:00:00)
- the data area physically closes
- a COMM OPTION=STATS is issued

The data is written to the table from a separate task (DBRW---H).
