Needing clarification on Redhat (RHEL) OS we support for DevTest 10.0.0 and 10.1.0
I would like to clarify currently supported RHEL OS versions.
On doc for version 10.0: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3, 6.5, 6.6, 7.1, 7.2
On doc for version 10.1 it is different: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7, 7.1, 7.2
1) Is RHEL 6.8 supported OS version for v. 10.0 and 10.1?
2) All RHEL versions below 6.7 i.e. 6.3, 6.5, 6.6 are really not supported by v. 10.1?
All supported DevTest releases on supported RHEL (Redhat Linux) systems.
From DevTest Product Management:
Our documentation in 10.0.0 and 10.1.0 reflects what we support.
All the platforms that we have listed in the documentation are tested.
Answers to the questions:
1) Is RHEL 6.8 supported OS version for DevTest 10.0.0 and 10.1.0?
No, we have not certified against RHEL 6.8
2) All RHEL versions below 6.7 i.e. 6.3, 6.5, 6.6 are really not supported by DevTest 10.1.0?
We dropped dropped support in 10.1.0 given that they are old and are not supported by the vendor anymore. According to the RHEL site, it appears 6.8 is not listed as an Extended Update Support version (6.7 EUS ends July 31, 2018), however on another part of the website it says it is through 2018. So we are not sure think of this site data:
In general it appears Redhat supports critical updates for 24 months on any system point release.
We will be supporting RHEL 6.8 going forward. Since we are agreeing to certify, if you go to a RHEL 6.8 platform now, and and there are issues, we will support you.
