Wrong data retrieved from XOG read for resource allocations

Issue/Introduction

We experienced strange results in the XOG for reading allocations which is not behaving consistently. As per my understanding XOG is supposed to return allocation % per time period, but in some cases it is actually returning allocated hours per time period. We have a script, retrieving resource allocation via XOG (and expecting allocation %) and then based on read data updating them back via XOG as allocation %. And this is where corruption happens – retrieving allocated hours and committing them as allocated %. Please check the screenshot made from a real XOG output. As can be seen there, the Alloc curve and HardAlloc curve shows the allocations in different format.

Cause

The issue is caused by corrupt Allocation curve. We could not determine what triggered the corruption.

If you encounter a similar situation do send app-ca.log file to Technical Support

Resolution

The Allocation curve for the resource we looked at was corrupt.
Re-enter allocation percentage values in the allocation segments in Staff Members Properties page to correct corrupted allocation percentages in blob.
