Error restoring CA Librarian MASTER file

Issue/Introduction

When trying to restore the Librarian master file, receive the following error:

*** ERROR ***          MASTER FILE CAN NOT BE RESTORED BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN ACCESSED SINCE ITS INITIALIZATION

 

 

Environment

Release : z/OS 4.4     z/VSE 4.1

Component : CA Librarian

Cause

CA Librarian has safeguards against inadvertantly reformatting (and thereby destroying the content of) existing Librarian master files.

Resolution

The Master file must first be initialized before a RESTORE can be done.
