TDM: After Upgrading to 4.8, TDM Web Url is not working -Test Data Repository version specified in database (3.2N) is invalid

Issue/Introduction

 

TDM was upgraded from version 4.7 to 4.8 successfully, however teh TDM web URL is not coming up.
https://<server>/TestDataManager/index.html

The browser error message is : This site cannot be reached

When attempting to open FDM, the error is received:

Test Data Repository version specified in database (3.2N) is invalid. This version of the software can work with Test Data Repository versions 4.8 and above only.
In order to upgrade you will need to run TDM Portal. If assistance is needed, please contact support!"


Cause

Prior releases required an upgrade to FDM to launch an upgrade of the repository database. Going forward in 4.8, this procedure has changed.

Environment

Release : 4.8

Component : CA Test Data Manager

Resolution

1. Upgrade the TDM Portal first.
2. Launch the portal.

The first time the portal is launched, it triggers the scripts that will update the TDM repository database.
