SpectroSERVER Online backups fail - FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE CREATING THE BACKUP DIRECTORY

Issue/Introduction
On a new system, I tried configuring the SSDB backup but while running the manual backup, I get the error: "Backup Failed! (check events or Alarms)"
Environment
Release : 10.x
Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER
Cause
We see the following in the alarm on the online backup model:
"A FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE CREATING THE BACKUP DIRECTORY"
or
"OnLineBackup (name - OnLineBackup): Backup directory D:\Db_Backup\SS_DB_Backup create permission denied!, On-line Backup has failed."
The online backup model can be accessed from a locator search on application models.

Resolution
The backup location specified does not exist or the Spectrum user does not have permission to create a backup in that location.
Change this to a correct location or ensure the directory has permissions from the SCP backup button or the oneClick console VNM model, online backup subview.
