CA Network Flow Analysis (NetQos / NFA)

Issue/Introduction

The RealTimeReaperErrors logs show errors similar to the following:

00:03:19 Severity 2 - hr_test failure 0x87fb001d A magic number value did not match expected value at d:\buildagent\work\release\nfa_main_prod\netflow\cppreaper\nfrtreaper\nfcvtprocessed.inl 458 because FileChecker encountered corrupt file E:\CA\NFA\Netflow\datafiles\ReaperWork\1580310480-9995_0_host.rpr.cmp. Continuing Reaper component aggregation process.

The reaper server was then failing and ReaperInput .tbn files were piling up.  The hard drive can fill up with these .tbn files.

Environment

Release : 10.0

Component : NQRPTA - REPORTERANALYZER

Cause

Reboots or full drives can cause corruption in files as they are written.  In this case, files in the ReaperWork folder were corrupted.  This will prevent the NFA services from running properly and they can crash.

Resolution

Remove the corrupted files from the ReaperWork folder and restart the reaper service.  Data should start processing.

If there are a lot of ReaperInput files, you may need to move them to another location to help speed up processing.  They can be re-added to ensure that this data isn't lost.  It can take a long time depending upon the number of files that need to be processed.
