Restart Plus license check

Issue/Introduction

Using the utility AMASPZAP a Restart Plus (temporary) license was loaded. Close to the expiry an additional (new, definitive) license was loaded.

At the end date of the first license Restart Plus stopped anyway.

Environment

MVS / z/OS

Release : 12.1

Component : RESTART PLUS

Resolution

After loading the definitive license the temporary license has to be removed, such that only one license is present.

The log during start up contains the following message:
UCR0500I  UC4.RESTARTPLUS SUPERVISOR TASK 1.2P READY FOR OPER



Subsequently, the log can be checked for the following messages. If none of the following messages are displayed your license is correctly installed and valid: 

UCR0399 RESTARTPLUS zzzz WILL EXPIRE IN nn DAYS

or:
UCR0397 RESTARTPLUS IS NOT LICENSED ON CPU: mmmm-ssss

or:
UCR0398 RESTARTPLUS zzzz HAS EXPIRED

Additional Information

Note that in a future version the license will be removed but in version 1.2P a license is still necessary.
