SYSVIEW Performance Management NXBRIDGE - SYSVIEW/ENDEVOR

Issue/Introduction

For the CA Sysview rel 15.0 and 16.0 installation, a possibility is to perform the RECEIVE/APPLY/ACCEPT with CSM.

Afterwards it necessary to run the sysview.CNM4BSAM(MSMJCL) job to create the sysview.SAMPJCL dataset.

Customizing the sysview.SAMPJCL(INSTALL), it contains these 2 new parameters:

LSDATACL=cisize24k,

SMPNTSHL=/yourUnpaxedUSSdirectory/,

If SMS is not installed and active at the lpar, what to specify at the LSDATACL parameter.

For  the SMPNTSHL parameter. What USS directory is needed to specify. The unpax is done by CSM during the install and deleted when the install has ended.

Environment

Release : 15.0 and 16.0

Component : CA SYSVIEW

Resolution

For the LSDATACL parameter:
If SMS installed installed, it's not possible to have MVS log streams. The LSDATACL symbol gets substituted in the log stream creation install jobs.
Since there is no log stream defined, the configurations isnt important.. It's possibly to specify anything, valid or not, for this symbol as it will never end up being used.

The documentation for the SMPNTSHL parameter says:
Specifies the USS directory path used for the Pax ESD download. This parameter sets the SMPNTS location for the SMP/E RECEIVE FROMNTS.

Since CA Sysview is installed with CSM this parameter doesn't matter. The value specified here gets plugged in on the SMPNTS DD in INST0003, and it's not needed to run INST0003 if CA Sysview is installed using CSM.
