Issue/Introduction

How can an ADS application be modified so it is retrieval only for certain users. That is only some user can execute update functions.

Resolution

To prevent only certain users performing update operations there are 2 options:

• Set up IDMS security to only allow update of the database to certain users.
• For an ADS application, use application activity security to restrict access to the update responses.
