Issue/Introduction

You are building a new PAM cluster for your environment and need to retain all of the session recordings from the old PAM implementation for legal purposes. Is there a way to copy a configuration or key so that the existing recordings can be played in the new cluster? You do not want to have the full database copied over and therefore making a node in the new environment temporarily a member of the old cluster is not an option for you.

Resolution

The standard way to get encryption keys from an existing environment copied over to a new environment is to temporarily make the node that will be master in the new environment a member of the old cluster.

If this is not desirable, open a case with PAM Support, who can assist in getting the relevant encryption key over from the old to the new environment.
