Error 401 on Hierarchy Parents Page

Issue/Introduction

Users are receiving an error on Project > Hierarchy >Parents tab. On the Parents tab, they click on the link of the parent investment(s), and are navigated to the properties page of that investment. After clicking on the Return button on that properties page, they receive the following error:

Error 401 - Unauthorized. You are not authorized to view the page. If you are sure you have access try logging in again or contact your system administrator.

Is this a permissions issue, or why are users getting this error? The system administrator does not get this error message.

Resolution

Clicking on the return button on the parent investment's properties page will navigate the users to the list view for that investment type. If the user does not have access to the list view, the Error 401 error will occur. For example, if the parent investment is a Program and the user does not have the Management - Programs right, which is the access right required to get to navigate to the Programs list view, the error will occur. To avoid the Error 401, the users would need to be granted the access right required to navigate to the list page of the parent investment type. Alternatively, if they are trying to get back to the Hierarchy - Parents list, they can click on the back arrow on the the upper left hand corner.
