Issue/Introduction

When adding "SET PATCH 5B = FF" to DFSMSdss logical copy, non-vsam datasets without EATTR values located on conventional dasd volumes (VTOC track managed space) can be copied to EAV (Extended Address Volumes) with VTOC cylinder managed space. EATTR values are set to OPT.

Is it possible to restore non-VSAM datasets from CA-Disk archive to disk adding EATTR=OPT?

Release : 12.5

Component : CA Disk Backup and Restore, CA Allocate

 

Resolution

Currently, this can only be accomplished using a Data Class that sets EATTR to OPT. 
We do not specify EATTR if it is not on the original data set.
We leave that to data set allocation products such as CA Allocate and SMS.

or in MOVE/COPY similar to what is provided by the patch for the DFSMSdss logical copy:
