While importing an existing CSV from an old version into a new version of a project in CA TDM Datamaker, the tables and columns having
Norwegian characters:
å
ø
æ
are not detected. The entries from the CSV map are not being imported in to a new version.
If manually editing the CSV file to replace the characters to Norwegian characters, an attempt to import gives the following error:

Solution 1
The TDM application is in the UTF-8 (8-bit Unicode Transformation Format) encoding, therefore the issue is due to the Microsoft Excel setting.
Obtain and review the Microsoft Excel CSV file produced.
Microsoft Excel is opening the CSV file in the default ANSI format.
When the file is loaded correctly in the UTF-8 format, the data will be displayed.
Solution 2
Obtain the latest TDM 4.8.1 patch from the Support Team.
