Output Management Web Viewer

Issue/Introduction

planning to add a 2nd web viewer server (in lab) to simulate the DR environment install.
Other than providing a unique sysid in CCI settings, Is there anything I need to do different for the 2nd web viewer app server? I'm aware that I can add a 2nd app server for high availability.
What's the purpose of sysid? Can I provide the same sysid for DR environment If I only run one app server at a time?
2nd app server will use the same database, do I need to do anything different for the 2nd app server install?

Environment

Release : 12.1

Component : CA OUTPUT MANAGEMENT WEB VIEWER FOR ALL PLATFORMS

Resolution

If the plan is to use the same external DB as the production Web Viewer when you failover, you would need the one DB only. But, if as a part of your DR scheme you have mirrored the database, then your DR Web Viewer would point to the second database.

Additional Information

Where you adding a 2nd Web Viewer server (in lab) to simulate the DR environment install is concerned, yes you need to provide a unique sysid (8 characters) in CCI settings. The purpose of sysid? The CCI Client System ID needs to uniquely identify communication from a specific server within the entire CCI network. Having said that, no, you should NOT have any server with the same CCI Client System ID as any other.
