Sending mail with authentication on SMTP fails

Issue/Introduction

When authenticated SMTP is used in AWA 12.3.1, a connection object is needed with object type "MAIL", however MAIL is not present in the drop down menu.

After adding MAIL type in UC_LOGIN_TYPES (client 0), MAIL is present in the drop down but sending mail still does not work. The following error is displayed:

 

On SAP agent:

SMTP Server 'name of server' replied with Error '530 5.7.57 SMTP; Client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail during MAIL FROM'

 

When email is sent from unix/ windows agent error is:

Authentication error '535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful' (SMTP server: 'server name')
