Issue/Introduction

Can the SYSVIEW Report Writer be used to format an Event Capture file and send it to a sequential file?

Resolution

Report Writer reports on SMF records, not SYSVIEW screen data. Therefore, attempting to use Report Writer to accomplish this will not result in the desired outcome. 
However, the  SYSVIEW PRINT command can be used to send the screen contents of an Event Capture to a sequential file where it may then be tailored to meet the needs of the requestor.
