Issue/Introduction

Because Windows Server 2008 R2 is end of support on 14th of January 2020 we want to do an in-place upgrade from Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012.

Are there any documentation, community topics or maybe are there any recommendations for doing this?

Environment

Service Operations Insight (SOI) Manager: 4.2

Windows 2008 R2

Resolution

As you are going to upgrade existing OS from Windows 2008 to Windows 2012 server and there will not be any change in Host name or IP Address. So, no changes required from SOI side as SOI 4.2 is compatible with Windows Server 2012. Please refer SOI compatibility for more details

However, we strongly recommend to backup "SOI" folder on all servers and test this scenario in test environment first and then implement in production
