Installed Siteminder web agent ca-wa-12.52-sp01-cr09-linux-x86-64.bin.
Product Name=CA SiteMinder Web Agent
FullVersion=12.52.109.2620
Version=12.52
Update=109
Build Number=2620
java version "1.8.0_72"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_72-b15)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.72-b15, mixed mode)
A recent security scan identified Java as outdated, Java version 1.8.0_72. The web agent installation installed this Java version. Can I maintain the most current version of Java by removing the old version and installing current version. If so what would the procedures be to uninstall and install current Java version. Siteminder r12.52 SP1 cr09 WEB AGENT
Java was installed by the Web Agent installer. Java is only used by the web agent installer and Uninstaller for those processes. The web agent itself doesn't use Java (it's compiled in C++).
Java can be removed, however, the Web Agent will need to be manually removed from the system.
