Issue/Introduction

Auto Operator profiles are sending multiple email alerts for alarms.

Environment

• Release: UIM 20.x
• Component: UIM NAS 9.x or higher

Cause

• Configuration issue

Resolution

•  Ensure that the AO Profile is set to "Message counter is Equal to 1."  
(This will cause only one email to be sent for each alarm incident until the alarm clears)

•  Check whether the option 'Email on assignment' is checked in the emailgtw probe configuration.

Email on Assignment: converts assigned alarms into emails and sends them to the email addresses defined in the profiles.

Default: Not selected. 

Deselect "Email on Assignment" unless you need that to remain enabled for 'other' reasons. Keep in mind that every email that gets automatically assigned will get emailed to the defined emailgtw profiles.

 

•  Adjust the AO profile from Action Mode "On message arrival" to "On overdue age 30sec".

With the above actions, one email should be sent for each matched alarm instance.
