Issue/Introduction

Description

Attempting to integrate existing VMWARE environment with VCAIM(ESXI devices) with Spectrum does not merge the models into just one model. After the discovery in Spectrum with VCAIM, there are two models created for ESXI. The expectation is that Spectrum will merge both models into one.

Environment

Release : 10.3

Component : Spectrum Discovery & Modeling

Cause

The existing ESXI models will not merge/reconciliation with ESXI devices added from VCIAM per product design. The ESXI devices under VCIAM will be modeled as a container in Spectrum and already existing model in the Spectrum is created as an SNMP device.

Resolution

If the ESXI devices were discovered in Spectrum before the VCAIM was integrated and configured, then the suggestion would be to remove the ESXI devices from Spectrum, and then rediscover back into Spectrum.
