We have several Access Points (AP) on Spectrum even though the discovery has been disabled on WLC Manager.
Is there any way to disable the automatic discovery on the Access Points (AP) from Spectrum and they should not be rediscovered even if WLAN controller is rediscovered?
Version: 10.4.x, 20.x, 21.x
WLC Manager
Spectrum has a built in feature to automatically discover Access Points (AP) for devices under WLC Manager.
You can stop the automatic modeling of Access Points (APs) by setting the attribute enableAPDisc to FALSE on each WLC app model.
For Cisco Devices the App Model is "Cisco_LWAPP_App"
For Aruba Devices the App Model is "Aruba_Controller"
Locator ~~> Application Models ~~> by Name ~~> Cisco_LWAPP_App
Set enableAPDisc to No
NOTE: 'Enable Scheduled Discovery' on the WLC Manager should also be set to 'No', otherwise, a scheduled discovery will flip the enableAPDisc attribute to 'Yes' and Access Points will be discovered on the next poll interval.
Additionally: If a user were to click on the "Run" button for the "Access Point Discovery", the discover Access Points.
