Issue/Introduction

OPS/MVS data sets were somehow converted from pds to pdse.   Will this be okay?

Cause

In this case, it was unknown how the data sets were converted

Resolution

Be aware that all data sets in the SYSEXEC concatenation need to have consistent record formats and logical record lengths per IBM documentation.

For rulesets, the requirements to use PDSEs are:

• All LPARs sharing the rulesets must reside in the same Sysplex
• The PDSESHARING setting in parmlib member IGDSMSxx must be set to EXTENDED
• Address spaces SMSPDSE and SMSPDSE1 must be active
