Issue/Introduction

Signon to CA Dataquery gets error:

DQ196E - YOU ARE ALREADY SIGNED ON AT TERMINAL: xxxx

ENTER "YES(Y)" TO SIGNOFF THERE AND CONTINUE

But user not signed on anywhere else. What can cause this?

Environment

Release : 15.1

Component : CA Dataquery

Cause

When a user signs on to Dataquery, it updates the DQU table with a SIGNED ON indicator for that user. It will remain in effect until the user signs off Dataquery.
If a terminal times out without signing off Dataquery, the indicator would be left on.
The DQ196E message is issued when a signon is attempted and the SIGNED ON indicator is on for that user.

In the CICS log you may see messages like this associated with the terminal that was logged on to Dataquery:
DFHZC2410 CSNE Node Unrecoverable. VTAM LOSTERM Error Code X'14'.  ((1) Module name: DFHZLTX)

Resolution

The DQ196E message allows the user to sign off the other terminal and signon to the new one by replying Y to the to the prompt:

ENTER "YES(Y)" TO SIGNOFF THERE AND CONTINUE

Alternatively, a Dataquery administrator can terminate an active user in the DQAJ0 panel.
