After upgrade to Release 14.0 from Release 12.6, we found the difference TMSPTRS between Release 12.6 and Release 14.0.
By specifying the TMSUPDTE DD statement in the TMSPTRS utility, the TMSPTRS create control cards to eliminate ERRORs.
Release 12.6
ERR79 CHAINING FROM BASE 111111: VOLUME 111111 WARNING: DSN17 IS HEXZERO CORRECTION SEE TMSUPDTE DD
Release 14.0
ERR79 CHAINING FROM BASE 111111: VOLUME 111111 WARNING: DSN17 IS HEXZERO
Why?
Release: 12.6 and 14.0
The Release 14.0 is correct.
This function was changed by RO64655 of Release 12.6.
ERR79 CHAINING FROM BASE 111111: VOLUME 111111 WARNING: DSN17 IS HEXZERO
In above case, The TMSUPDTE REP statement will not be generated to adjust this. Because, the HEXZEROS is a valid value.
Therefore, your CA 1 is working correctly.
Note:
APAR #: RO64655
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When an active volume has HEXZEROS for DSN17, TMSPTRS attempts to fix and change the value. HEXZEROS is a valid value. ERR79 will still be reported after this PTF, but a TMSUPDTE REP statement will not be generated to adjust this.
