USERS COULD NOT ACCESS TPX AFTER ABEND S0C3

Issue/Introduction

Customer reported that TPX users could not access it after TPX abended--some data:

 

TPX990E ABEND S0C3  - MODULE=SCREENFR, TASK=RTEPROG    
TPX       ABEND PSW        PSW contents    
TPX       R0  - R3               Registers contents    
TPX       R4  - R7              Registers contents    
TPX       R8  - R11           Registers contents    
TPX       R12 - R15         Registers contents

 

A TPX region restart brought the user access to TPX   back to normal.

OS : z/OS

Release : 5.4

Component : CA-TPX for OS/390

Cause

Resolution

As customer was not up-to-date in TPX maintenance (TPX 5.4 startup TPXL0003 messages showed its modules  at

07/25/13 assembly date) we suggested to cust to apply all currently published TPX PTFs--and if problem reoccurred

after that to please open a new case with us.
